Gaza

The situation in Gaza is now beyond horrible.

I have been to Gaza 3 times. Here are my brief reflections:

I was there on the day that the Oslo Peace Accord was signed (1993) and restrictions were lifted. There was dancing in the streets, and everyone roamed about freely.

Later I was there for a water conference with Gazan personnel. Tensions were building. Hamas was organizing.

Later I visited it with a CPT team. We visited a small hospital. The women’s hemoglobin blood counts were very low. It was tragic to see how their health conditions had deteriorated.

The documentary (link below) was made  before the present bombings. It is one of the best I have seen. It contains many dramatic scenes. It has clear statistics. It shows the horror of living in Gaza, which has only gotten much worse after the present bombing. The infrastructure has now collapsed. Electricity is out, Water shortages are rampant. Untreated sewage is everywhere. We will now see the slow strangulation of an entire culture. The slaughter of innocents during the great march to the Gaza border in 2018 is horrific. Children, journalists and medics are targeted by Israeli snipers.

Most dramatically, the documentary shows how Israeli propaganda is used .

The documentary is harrowing, and painfully enlightening.
